HELP US HELP THE ANIMALS
Having a dog is a great lesson in responsibility for children.
Older children are able to handle the feeding, grooming and
basic command training of their pet. This hands-on experience
creates a bond between the child and the pet that is very
rewarding. Adopting a rescue pet is a wonderful way to teach
compassion and generosity to your children. An AWS Adoption
Volunteer can assist you in finding just the right pet for your
child's age and lifestyle.

SOME PRECIOUS MOMENTS - Life as we know it is changing at
a rapid pace. It seems it is all families can do anymore to keep
up with the full schedules of what must be done. We are
bombarded by awful events in the news that can make us want
to isolate ourselves. Sometimes our trust is violated and we feel
vulnerable and turn inward. Those that do rescue work or deal
with the public know that most of our day is spent dealing with
thankless situations. The irresponsibility of others can make us
then, a moment happens that sets us straight again and proves
once more that our efforts are important. When you are able to
help a helpless being and can see the gratitude in their eyes, a
shower of renewal washes over you and you can move forward
again, focused on helping those that cannot help themselves.
